Amateur Hour

Holy cow! I was just scrolling through my Facebook feed, and landed on my local Community Events calendar. There’s a Creative Writers event, this evening, at one of the bookstores, in town.

Get this: not only are there eleven people interested (okay, a dozen, including myself), but six others who have committed to going to the thing. There actually ARE other writers, in this town!

There’s supposed to be a little creative writing assignment, and some discussion, afterward. The “assignment” is probably meant to be an icebreaker — discussion is likely to go anywhere, after that.

Of course, I didn’t commit to going — I never commit to anything, if I can help it, especially if it involves meeting people. Let’s just say that I’m charging up my small laptop, because even I can’t read my own handwriting, these days.

I’m almost excited about the idea. I’m such a nerd!
